Bert the weapons salesman appeared to Reyna's company of knights at the entrance of the Frightened Forest. Here he made an offer to Dothwyn; 50 gold pieces for a magical sword. Dothwyn only had 25, but Bert accepted that price and moved on. It is unknown how Bert acquired the sword. In fact, extremely little is known about Bert, as he lives nomadically and few even know his name.
